• 1st Visually Impaired Couple in Tamil Nadu to have Baby from their own egg and sperm
• Dream of having baby who can take care of them at their old age has come true for the couple

Chennai, July, 2018: Iswarya Fertility Center, Chennai today announced that, they had successfully conducted an effective specialized fertility treatment to a Visually Impaired couple from Villupuram who were childless since marriage. Doctors at Iswarya Fertility Centre performed In Vitro fertilization (IVF) treatment with couple’s own egg and sperm. A careful antenatal care was given by the doctors which helped the couple to deliver healthy boy baby through LSCS (Lower Segment Cesarian Section) weighing 3.12 kg.

 The couple, A Kaveri (38) who became blind at the age of 4 and Sathish Kumar D (38) who was blind by birth, from Villupuram got married in the year 2011 and were childless for  past 7 years. Earlier, Couples undergone IVF at other infertility treatment centers but was unsuccessful. In May 2017, they had approached Iswarya fertility Centre sought help to have a child of their own.

 Commenting on the Successful delivery, Dr. Chandralekha, Director, Chief Consultant, Iswarya Fertility center said “Visually impaired couples giving birth to baby with a normal eye sight vision are very rare instance, since there are increased chances of transmitting blindness to child from the mother due to multiple fibroid. She had successful conception through IVF following which a proper antenatal check-up was provided to the mother at the centre by the doctors  helped her to deliver  baby without any complications ”

  Appreciating the doctors at the centre for the successful treatment, Dr V Arun Muthuvel, Medical Director, Iswarya fertility centre, Adyar, said “Usually, Visually impaired couples will undergo IVF procedure through donor’s Egg in order to avoid complications in eyesight. But, the couple, In spite of knowing there is a risk,  took a decision to have baby with their own egg and sperm by having faith on doctors at the centre, which is commendable “.

“With our years of experience in infertility treatment, we were successful in delivery her precious child for the couple and we had advised them to have caretaker for initial periods for both baby and mother”added Dr V Arun “.

 Couple were happy that, there dream to have a baby who can take care of them at their old age has come true and we are happy to play a small role. The couples were thankful to the doctors and staffs for their care during pre and post treatment at Iswarya Fertility Centre, Adyar.
