CII’s flagship annual ICT Conference to focus on the theme – “Accelerating Progress: Inclusive Digital Growth”

Chennai, 7 October 2018:   Connect 2018 – the flagship annual ICT Conference organised by the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) in partnership with Government of Tamil Nadu will focus on the theme – “Accelerating Progress: Inclusive Digital Growth”.   Connect 2018 is scheduled to be held on 9 & 10 October 2018 in Chennai. The Software Technology Parks of India is the Co-Host for Connect 2018.

Aligned with the Digital India initiatives, Connect 2018 will feature exclusive sessions and panel discussions showcasing the fast paced growth of ICT sector in India and in Tamil Nadu besides highlighting Tamil Nadu’s potential in the ICT Industry. The conference will also emphasize on the importance of favourable policies to streamline the growing start-up ecosystem and the need to encourage disruptive innovations and inclusive digital growth which would further strengthen the growth of ICT industry.

Commenting on CII Connect 2018, Mr Krishnakumar Natarajan, Chairman, CII Connect 2018 & Executive Chairman, Mindtree Limited said “Technologies becoming the core for businesses and societies is a great opportunity for India.  The mass adoption of connected digital services by consumers, enterprises and governments  in recent years has emerged as a key economic driver that accelerates growth and facilitates job creation in India. The smart adoption of technology in Enterprises and Societies can also help us to leapfrog in productivity and achieve the vision of becoming a USD 10 trillion Economy by 2030. Digital Transformation will contribute to USD 154 Billion to India’s GDP by 2021”.

To achieve this vision, policy makers and thought leaders need to be focused on “Inclusive Digital Growth”. This will ensure that every segment of the economy benefits from Technology deployment with right policies paving the way for a more holistic growth and how these convergence necessitates policymakers, to become digital market makers and creators of an inclusive digital economy that provides its citizens, enterprises and economic sectors with the competitive advantage essential to thrive in an increasingly global market.

Mr Edappadi K Palaniswami, Hon’ble Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu has kindly consented to be the Chief Guest at the Valedictory Session scheduled on 10 October 2018.
