Installation of 384 Hi-tech security cameras around Chennai
Chennai, 30th November 2018: RCC Diva Foundation launched Project “SURAKSHA”, an initiative by RCC Diva Foundation in association with Chennai Police installed HI-Tech Cameras with night vision and speed detectors at major parts of the city covering schools, colleges, temples, signals, junctions and sensitive areas. SURAKSHA making city safe and secure campaign inaugurated by Thiru AK Viswanathan, Commissioner of Police Greater Chennai on 30th November 2018 at Maharashtra Bhavan.
Greater Chennai Commissioner Mr. A. K. Vishwanathan ensures the safety of public through 24 hrs CCTV surveillance. On behalf of the Chennai City corporation, 384 Turbo HD cameras we set up at Veppery, Ritherdon road, Flowers road, EVK Sampath road, Jermiah road, Bernaby road, Pursaiwalkam, Dr.Alagappa road, GangadeeshwararKoil Road. Every 50 mts of these areas have been bought under CCTV surveillance. Out of the 384 cameras, 176 major camera are connected directly to the control room for strong security purposes. During the launch event AK Viswanathan, Commissioner addressed a gathering of public and explained the importance of installing CCTV cameras to curb crimes in the city and advised the public to install cameras outside the shops and houses.“Apart from nabbing miscreants, CCTV cameras come in handy in resolving several issues such as traffic and crowd management. CCTVs act as the third eye of the police.
