DP WORLD WELCOMES TWO NEW SERVICES AT ITS TERMINALS IN NHAVA SHEVA, CHENNAI AND COCHIN

The new weekly services – Middle East-India-Africa Express (MIAX) will connect DP World operated Nhava Sheva International Container Terminal (NSICT) with West and South Africa; while the South India Europe Express (IEX) will connect Chennai Container Terminal (CCT) and India Gateway Terminal (IGT) with European markets.

MIAX/AIM service operated by Hapag Lloyd and ONE has deployed 9 vessels of 2,800 TEU capacity. It commenced calling NSICT from October 2019 with the safe berthing of the first vessel MV New Jersey Trader, LOA 212.6 M and exchange of 968 TEU. The port rotation is – Nhava Sheva – Colombo-Pt. Des Galets – Durban – Cape Town – Tema – Tincan- Appapa.

The IEX service jointly operated by Hapag Lloyd, COSCO, ONE, OOCL and YML will be the first dedicated direct product in this market with a fixed-weekly sailing and will deploy 9 vessels of 6,500 TEU. The first vessel on this service Al Rawdah, LOA 306.1m called DP World Chennai on 29th October 2019 with an exchange of 2121 TEU.

The port rotation is Visakhapatnam – Krishnapatnam – Chennai – Tuticorin – Colombo – Cochin – Damietta – Piraeus – Rotterdam – London Gateway Port – Hamburg – Antwerp – Le Havre – Damietta – Jeddah – Colombo – Visakhapatnam.
