CONNECT – Two day conference to focus on the theme, “Intelligent Economy – Leveraging Technology for the new era”

Chennai, November 1, 2017 : Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) jointly with Government of Tamil Nadu is organizing the 16th Edition of CONNECT 2017 – a premier annual conference and exposition on Information and Communication Technology (ICT) on 6th & 7th November 2017 at Hotel Taj Coromandel, Chennai.

The two-day conference with the theme, “Intelligent Economy – Leveraging Technology for the New Era” aims to boost the Information and Communication Technology (ICT) Technology of the state and leverage favorable policy frameworks to draw investment in the industry. Aligned with the Central Government’s Digital India objectives, Connect 2017 will feature exclusive sessions, panel discussions hosted by eminent industry leaders to showcase the Technology for the new era in India and highlight Tamil Nadu State’s potential in IT and ICT Industry.

The conference will also emphasize on the importance of favorable policies to streamline the growing ecosystem and the need to encourage disruptive innovations, which further strengthens the growth of ICT industry in Tamil Nadu.

Highlighting the event  CONNECT 2017 in Chennai, Mr Ravi Viswanathan, Chairman, CII Connect 2017  said, “Connect as a Conference is easily the most successful initiative in the country with a track record of 16 successful years and credibility of achieving many significant milestones. Since its inception, Connect has played a pivotal role in building Industry – Government connect which has paved the way for key initiatives like new IT Policy, IT Parks in the tier 2 & tier 3 cities, IT Corridors, developments of SEZs, dedicated ICT Academy and many more.

Outlining the Theme ““Intelligent Economy – Leveraging Technology for the New Era”, Mr Ravi Viswanathan said that Technology has now become an integral part of all our lives and we cannot possibly imagine performing most tasks without them. Without technology, we tend to have limitations that is an indication of the degree of interdependency between man and machine. We need to adopt technologies in the safest way possible. Overall, the growth of ICT segment in the state is very optimistic and I am confident that these initiatives will further strengthen Tamil Nadu as leading ICT investment destination in the country.

CONNECT 2017 conference sessions would be focussing on Governance; Future technology; Technology trends in Automotive and Healthcare sectors apart from Policy frameworks in the new era.
