7UP and A.R Rahman search for 7 best voices to sing live on stage with A. R Rahman 

7UP Mobile recording studios are visiting 34 locations in Chennai including Women’s Christian College and Stella Maris College

Chennai, December 19th, 2017: 7Up joined hands with renowned music maestro A.R Rahman, to launch its biggest ever music platform – 7Up Thamizh Naattin Kural’celebrating the vibrant spirit of Tamil Nadu. The state-wide voice hunt is now in Chennai with specially crafted 7UP mobile recording studios visiting 34 locations across the city in search of singing talent.7 lucky winners will sing live with A.R Rahman at a concert in Chennai. Actress and singer Andrea Jeremiah kicked off the Chennai auditions, by recording her voice entry to the contest at the 7Up mobile studio stationed at Women’s Christian College. She engaged with the city’s budding singers and spoke to them about her penchant for music.

 Speaking about the city-wide auditions, A.R Rahman said, “Chennai is a land of rich heritage, and there is magic in the air here. With 7Up Thamizh Naattin Kural, we are celebrating Tamil Nadu’s rich musical legacy, and I am looking forward to discovering new musical talent from Chennai.”

In Chennai, visiting the 7Up mobile recording studio, well-known actress Andrea Jeremiahsaid, “The enthusiasm of the crowds here in Chennai is palpable. I saw some very talented singers coming in to record their entries and participate in 7Up Thamizh Naattin Kural. I wish the people of Chennai all the best, and hope to see at least one of these talented people performing live on stage with Mr. Rahman.”

The mobile recording studios are stationed in Chennai till 22nd December. The city’s budding singers will be able to visit the vans at Stella Maris College and Royapettah amongst others, and record their entries. Participants will also be able to submit their entries by calling toll-free number 18001200077, and recording his/ her voice.

The brand’s new initiative, ‘7UP Thamizh Naattin Kural’, will create a unique musical platform for singing talent from across Tamil Nadu to participate in and win the opportunity of a lifetime to perform alongside music maestro, A.R Rahman.

The top 20 contestants shortlisted from all the entries received will be invited to Chennai to perform in front of a jury panel. The 7 best singers will be selected from this audition and will train with Mr Rahman’s team. They will then perform on stage at a live concert to be held in Chennai in January 2018 to mark 25 years of A.R Rahman’s timeless music. One lucky winner among the seven finalists will also be awarded a one-year scholarship at AR Rahman’s globally renowned KM Music Conservatory.

In addition to Chennai, the 7UP mobile recording studios will also be visiting colleges and popular locations across Cuddalore, Erode, Coimbatore, Madurai, Kanchipuram, Nagarcoil, Salem, Tiruvannamalai, Tiruchirappalli, Tripur, Tirunelveli, Thoothukkudi, Vellore andKaraikudi.
