12.1.2018, Velammal  Matriculation Higher Secondary  School,  Mogappair East celebrated Maha Pongal Utsav 2018 on Friday, 12.01.18. Actress & Director Smt. Akshaya graced the occasion. The tiny tots experienced and enjoyed the important rituals and the scientific reasons associated with this harvest festival.

The mela had a mega pot exhibit, Giant Wheel ride and various forms of folk dance like Silambattam, Kavadiattam, Mayilattam, Oyilattam Garagattam, Puliattam were performed by the students.

A healthy millet feast was a part of the carnival. About 200 people visited and enjoyed the Maha Pongal Utsav.
