KSA Trust Champions of Chennai-2014 Awards

10410703_604145396371219_3269030116387542458_n Champions of Chennai award event which was held on Sunday evening at the Chinmaya Heritage Centre in Chetput and was organized by the KSA Trust which has been promoted by a chartered accountants firm based in Luz.

The annual awards, now in its second edition decorate people who make a signal contribution to the city and its people.

This year, chief guest Carnatic vocalist Sudha Ragunathan presented the awards to seven people from the fields of art and culture, healthcare, community service, sport, education and business enterprise.

The Champions included Dr. Leelavathy who heads the Clarke School for the Deaf, Dr  Raveendran of Udhi Eye Hospitals, Alwarpet and Callidai Motors’ Bhargav and Priya Sundaram who have an office in Desika Road and a factory on the city fringe.

Dr Raveendran’s hospital has reached out to the poor while Bhargav and Priya’s enterprise manufacture equipment that makes like easy for the old, infirm and disabled that suit their needs.

The other Champions were Deborah Thiagarajan who runs Dakshinachitra in Muttukkadu which showcases the art, craft and architecture of south India; athletics coach Nagarajan P. who has produced many Internationals who hail from the hinterland and R. Rlango who changed the face of the suburban Koothambakkam village with a focus on local agriculture and traditions.
