100% Scholarships to Indian Students for Pursuing Master’s Degree in Nuclear Technology in Russia

“In the framework of ROSATOM (Russian State Atomic Energy Corporation) Festival of Science dedicated to the 30th Anniversary of the Russian-Indian cooperation in the field of the peaceful uses of the atomic energy, Russian Universities have come forward to offer PG programs on scholarships for Indian students including five full scholarships on the basis of eligibility test to study master’s program in one of the top Russian Universities – The National Research Nuclear University MEPhI,” said Mr. Mikhail Gorbatov, Vice-Consul of Consulate General of the Russian Federation in South India, during a select media conference held today in the city to announce on the full scholarship program.

Ms. Ekaterina Petrova, Leading Engineer from National Research Nuclear University MEPhI and Mr. Yurii Anokhin, Professor of the Russian Academy of Natural Sciences, were also present during the press meet.

Students with Bachelor’s Degree in Science, preferably with familiarity in atomic physics and thermal physics and minimum of 50% of marks are eligible to take up the Science Olympiad test. The test will assess the scholarship applicant’s knowledge on the basics and formulas related to fuel enrichment, radioactive decay, electric and thermal stations, and efficiency. Meritorious students will be eligible for 100% scholarships including Tuition fee waiver and Hostel accommodation. For details, visit www.russia.study

The Master Degree program of Nuclear Physics and Technologies (2 year duration) will commence during the month of September 2018 and the medium of instruction will be English. On completion of the course, brightest students might be placed in the nuclear facilities inside and outside Russia.

Towards creating increased awareness among the upcoming generation on the role of `Nuclear and Radiation Technologies for Scientific and Technological Development’ and `Nuclear Medicine in Cancer Diagnosis and Therapy’, Ms. Ekaterina Petrova and Mr. Yurii Anokhin are visiting educational institutions namely IIT Madras, Rajalakshmi Engineering College, APLHA School and AMM School, in Chennai from 6th  to 9th February.
