Future Media School hosts Communication Carnival TFOTP-ALORON 2018

Kolkata 21st February, 2018–TFOTP-ALORON, a unique one-day communication carnival byFuture Media School, one of the education initiatives under Team Future was hostedat its Sonarpur campus on February 21, 2018. The event, conducted third year in a rowbrought students and enthusiasts from different educational institutions on a common platform. The carnivalprovided a stage for future talents to portray their skills.TFOTP-ALORON 2018 opens up the world of media to embrace newer methods of connecting to our culture, history and heritage.

The carnival boasted of various forms of competition such as Nukkad – Dramatics, Unconventional Orchestra – Creative music, Insta_clicks – On spot Photography, Rangrezz – Graffiti making,Jagga Jasoos – On spot Journalism and Exhibitionaire – Photography Exhibition. Both mainstream and allied media was portrayed at the carnival.

TFOTP ALORON-2018, the communication fest is the first event initiative by TFOTP Season 3.This convergence creates a space for different art forms to blend and interact in order to give rise to new creative processes and push the boundaries of what we know as heritage today. The Future of the Past (TFOTP)-ALORON is an attempt to create a positive ecosystem where today’s youth can connect to the love for their city and rejoice in the festivity.’

Designed to celebrate expression in different inmedia communication, the fest included ‘Chhelebelar Khela’ (Lost Childhood Games) which are no longer popular today.The event also replicated a fun fair with different traditional foods, games, toys to revive the nostalgia of childhood days.One of the most eye-catching performance was by the Adivasis of Purulia who enthralled the audience with their Chhau Dance performance on Mahishasur Mardini.

 

Founder Director of Team Future Dr. Mousumi Ghosh said, “TFOTPALORON has definitely unearthedfuture talents in the field of communication.The carnival acted as a litmus test for young performers to hone their skills before setting onto a journey towards a futuristic media careers.”

The Inauguration was done through Jugalbandi (Live Painting & Music) by eminent artists, Dr. Sibamay Dasgupta and Sohan Ghosh. The event was graced by media luminaries such as Dr. John W Hood, Author and film critic, Mr. Soumyajit Mahapatra, Chairman, PRSI, Mr. Jimmy Tangree, CEO, Friends FM, Mr. Bikas Das, Photo Journalist, Associated Press, India, Ms. Medha Chakraborty, Eminent Reciter and Mr. Brian Kelly, CEO, Calcutta Connect. Children from Hope Foundation also participated in a Sit & Draw.
