Pride Personalities’ of Tamil Nadu
Chennai, 6th March, 2018: ‘Pride of Tamil Nadu’, a brainchild concept of the Round Table India is back with its 2nd edition to identify, recognize and celebrate talents from various fields across the state. Registrations are open till 12th March and the nominations can be submitted at www.prideoftamilnadu.com.
Pride of Tamil Nadu which was initiated last year honors achievers for undertaking hardships and challenges that went into carving themselves, and inspire the next generation not only to be successful but also make tamilians feel extremely proud. They will be rightfully awarded as the pride of Tamil Nadu for taking an extra step in this competitive world that we live in today. The funds raised through this event will be used for the construction of classrooms for underprivileged children. Team Madras South Round Table 39, a part of Round Table India will identify the schools that need assistance to improve their infrastructure or the schools who require assistance to improve their standards.
The awards fall under two groups broadly: Inspiring and Emerging. The award for the inspiring group, identifies those who have already achieved or reached a pinnacle in their specific field and are considered as an iconic role model for many youngsters. The jury committee will exclusively select these award recipients. The award for the emerging group identifies the budding talents from various fields who strive to become their role model.
Participants can be living in any part of India or the world but they should have made Tamil Nadu state proud and should have had presence in TN and has been in continuous operation. They should have achieved name & fame in their respective field or they should have created a social/business impact towards betterment of TN. Consistent Growth and Impact in their own field as an Individual/Organization
Application and Selection procedure:
Anyone can apply for the nomination or they can recommend their nominee provided they should comply with the criteria. Nominations received will be shortlisted initially based on the set criteria. Last date of Nominations: March 12th, 2018. Shortlisted nominees based on the filtered criteria will be sent to our jury members and they will select the top three/five finalists of each category who are eligible for the awards. After the jury members decides on the top 5 final list of nominees in each category it will be left to the audience to select winner of each category by voting through website, mobile, whatsapp, SMS etc. A true and deserving person who can inspire millions and makes fellow TN people proud will be bestowed with the title “Pride of Tamil Nadu -Emerging”. The jury will be holding 60% and the audience 40% in the selection of finalists. The awards will be handed out under categories such as Administrative Services, Agriculture, Art & Culture, Film Artists, Food & Beverages, Journalism, Education, Literature, Medical, NGOs, Retail, SME, Sports and Start-ups.

About Pride of Tamil Nadu : Pride of Tamil Nadu is the brain child of MSRT 39 to identify, recognize and celebrate talents from TN. This will be unique, fair and will be regarded as the most prestigious award of TN. Pride of TN not only will celebrate biggest successes in TN but will also operate as medium to congratulate people who are making their state proud. Personalities across various / diversified fields will be awarded for going an extra mile in this competitive world. It is a recognition for all the hardships and challenges that went into carving themselves, and also inspiring the next generation not only to be successful but also make the state they come from PROUD.
About Madras South Round Table: The Round Table is internationally, a friendship organisation, founded in Norwich, England by Louis Marchesi, then a Rotarian in 1927. From a small group of 8 members, today it has grown to over43,000 members across 52 countries representing every corner of the world. Round Table came to India in 1957 with the formation of Madras Round Table No 1 on November 14th 1962 by JohnBarton. Over the past four decades it has grown to become a 4,000 member strong association. Madras South Round Table 39 is the 39th table formed in India during the year 1977. MSRT 39 consists of 20 tablers and 2 Honorary tablers, Chaired by a professional banker Ankit Gupta who works with Barclays Bank. The Vice Chairman of MSRT 39 is Amit Chowdhary who owns a reputed Bathroom fittings showroom, Secretary Sarvesh Patel who runs a high end furnishing store, Treasurer Sudheer Paul a diamond Merchant and Vishal Goel the immediate past Chairman into the world of printing. To date MSRT 39 has built over 50 classrooms, supported the city during the disastrous movements such as Tsunami, Flood, Cyclone etc. MSRT 39 has conducted many musical nights such as Sunidhi Chauhan, Shreya Gosal, Comedy Nights, Inter Corporate Cricket matches; Fun and Fair events where all funds raised was used towards the construction of class rooms for theunderprivileged children.
The winners from the last year’s edition in the Inspiring category include – P Amudha, IAS in Administrative Services, and K Sridharan – Chancellor – Kalasalingam University in Education, Mr. Siva Karthikeyan and Mr. Anirudh Ravichander in Entertainment, Ms. Kripa Dharmaraj – Founder of MC’S Lunchbox in Start ups respectively.
The Emerging category winners include – Dr. K. Vijayakarthikeyan, IAS in Administrative Services, Dr.Kannan Gireesh – Founder & CEO of Live Life Education Private Ltd in Education, Mr. Karthik Naren and Ms. Shakthisree Gopalan in Entertainment and Mr. Girish Mathrubootham, – Founder & CEO at Freshdesk among Start ups.
The awards for the first edition were taken home by such eminent personalities, so it would be an interesting treat to watch and a challenging task for the winners of Edition 2.
After the success of the first edition, wherein we’d received 1200 nominations and 41000 votes were casted. So it would be an anticipation for the viewers and organisers to hope for an escalated number of nominations and voters.
