The central government has entered into an agreement with the famous information technology company RICOH for the modernisation of all Post Offices in the country at the cost of Rs. 1370 Crores.

RICOH will supply install the latest equipment for the most modern communication facilities.

It will also maintain the communication technology systems in the Post Offices for the next 10 years.

It will also involve in the installation and commissioning of Solar UPS systems.

The central government intends to provide the latest communication facility even in remote rural areas without banking services.
