Jean-Louis Lamboray spent 13 years, working on the design and implementation of healthcare reform in Zaire, and then as a health advisor at the World Bank in Washington.

He participated in the negitiations leading to the creation of UNAIDS, a programme in which he contributed between 1995 and 2004.

Author of “AIDS, The Battle Can be Won” (In Frenchj “Editions de L’ aTELIER 2004”), this doctor. a graduate of the UCL, has been involved with The Constellation since 2004, a network supports the capacity of More than 1 Million local players in more than 15 countries around the world.

The stories in “What Makes Us Human” suggest a way forward based on the experience of 1000’s of communities worldwide. They take action based on their strengths to realise their, and as they connect to share their experience, they inspire each other to take further action. The book invites us to reconnect with ourselves and others to regain agency over our lives,and to work at the realisation of the world we want to see.

THE CONSTELLATION

Dr.Jean-Louis Lamboray is one of the founders of “The Constellation” Which registered with the Belgium NGO. The organisation promotes local communities to mobilise themselves to address thier own concerns. They form the stars in The Constellation and illuminate each other for more effective responses. Facilitators form the Constellation strive to stimulate, learn and connect the local responses.

South India AIDS A ction Programme

The South India AIDS Action Programme (SIAAP) based in Chennai, came into existence in 1990.

It was registered as a Trust in 1992. Since its inception, SIAAP has worked in diverse areas. It focuses on building capabilities and agency of people, communities and institutions to collaboratively address issues they identity as important.

Thus, the focus is on community-led research, Capacity building, building self-esteem and social capital for marginalised people, and developing collaborative models for implementation.
