About the show

What is Mandala Art?
Mandala is a Sanskrit word denoting a ”circle” that symbolically represents the ‘Universe’. In Hinduism, it is a geometric representation. Whereas, in Tibeten Buddhism, mandala is the richest visual object. A mandala epitomizes an imaginary palace that is envisioned in the meditative state.

The exhibition was inaugurated by Cine Artist Priyadarshini Rajkumar and the Special Guests include: Mathivathani, Business Development Officer, British Council; Rajendran, Founder Dessin Academy; Zareen Taj, Mandala Artist; Prabha Dixit, Principal, Akshar Arbol International School, Dr. Mini Rao, Psychologist & Saravanan, Joint Secretary at Tamilnadu School Students Welfare Association.
Each Mandala at Parikarshana portrays spiritual presence with a highly coordinated pleasantness within. The works at display communicates different significances that is dependent on the viewer’s perception.

About the Artist
The thirst for difference, novelty and inspiration drew the artist to Mandala Arts. Varaaz Art is Varalakshmi’s initiative where she helps art aspirants seek and look into deeper perspectives of Mandala Art. Her creations of mandala are hand drawn and hand painted.
