Anand, a jobseeker, stays with his friends Ravi and Balaji, at one house. Anand very often listens to some unusual sounds like that of a doorbell repeatedly ringing along with banging of door in the house. In the kitchen, some vessel sounds, water flowing from the tap, some whispering sounds etc. creates in him an impression of some human presence.
The interesting part is these sounds turn vague. His room-mates however never hear these sounds. They find Anand blabbering without any sense. Further, Anand repeatedly witnesses a lady in Burqa appearing before him. He feels this has got something to do with . Even this lady in burqa turns an illusion many times to him. He hesitates to go to his house, despite his parents’ repeated pleas.
Anand remains unemployed and lives within the four walls along with his friends, stressing himself and constantly trying to uncover the mystery behind the sound. This also affects his love-life. His girl friend tries putting pressure on him to get into a job so that she could speak to her parents about their marriage proposal. Anand at one point gets lost in visual and auditory hallucinations.
Looking at his helpless situation, Anand’s friends as also his girl friend try to cheer him, motivate him and put efforts to bring him back to normal. But Anand remains obstinate. At one point, Anand realizes that the sounds he frequently hears is audible only to him and not to others. Why Anand is reacting to even simple normal sounds so abnormally ? Who is the lady in burqa ? What is her connection in Anand’s sister’s murder ? Will he find a solution to the mysteries behind these unusual sounds he hears ? All these comprises the rest of the story.
