Sahodaran, an organization rooted in the community and dedicated to the LGBTIQA+ cause, held an HIV/AIDS awareness event at Alsa Mall, Egmore, Chennai on Saturday, 13.01.2024. This initiative was backed by the Tamilnadu State AIDS Control Society (TANSACS) and inaugurated by Dr. Janakiram, Joint Director, TI, TANSACS.

“HIV/AIDS and STI awareness is reducing among the youth. Through Dance by transgender people and placards we are raising awareness on the importance of using condoms for the Youth. said Jaya, General Manager, Sahodaran organization and thanked TANSACS for the financial support for the programme.

“Sahodaran organization is working in HIV prevention for last 2 decades. Nowadays many young people are searching for sexual partners in online dating apps. Most of them does not have knowledge on condoms and HIV. We believe that they will become aware of these things while watching this programme.” Said Anandhi, Project Director, TANSACS-TI project, Sahodaran.
