In Kallakurichi, Swasika, who lives without a husband, has two sons (Ajay Dhishan and Sakthi). As they reach their teenage years, Swasika wishes for a companion for herself. But since her sons lack worldly experience, they can’t accept it, so she gives up the idea. But when they move past their teenage years and reach maturity, the sons begin to understand their mother’s longing… The story is about what decision they take, and what consequences follow.
A film by director Sasi always has plenty of life experiences woven into it. Since this story is also based on true events, it gains even more significance. Swasika, who appears not just as the heroine of the story but as the very soul of the film, is present throughout the movie. It’s impossible to count how many different emotions and feelings come and go across her face and body language. Only actors who are “atoms of acting” could have performed like Swasika. And that performance also serves to justify her actions.
Throughout the film, it’s director Sasi’s realistic, thought-provoking dialogues and heroine Swasika’s unmatched performance that reign supreme..!
Vijay Antony appears only in the second half of the film. But after his entry, the screenplay catches fire with intensity. Vijay Antony’s performance is also a whole new level we haven’t seen from him before..!
Ajay Dhishan and Shakthi, who play Swasika’s sons, have lived their roles just like real brothers. Kavya Anil and Padinie Kumar, who appear as their partners, also shine in their roles. Karunas shocking transformation as Swasika’s loving brother leaves us stunned. Along with them, Balaji Sakthivel, Aruldoss, Lijomol, Bucks, Vinodhini and others do justice to their roles.
Cinematographer S.B. DARSHAN KIRLOSH takes us right into the village where the story unfolds. And among the songs that sing a mother’s glory, Balaji Sriram’s ‘Amma Amma Dhaan..’ will stand the test of time.
“Nooru Sami” is a film about the emotional struggle of a woman who lost her husband. It shows how a woman without a husband suffers at the hands of men in society. The greatness of remarriage, which both men and women need. Children without a father couldn’t honor their mother more than this..!
