Velammal Educational Trust’s commitment towards a holistic education for students is reconfirmed with not just its academic achievements but also with its Extra and Co- curricular activities.
The Velammal International school-“Chithravathi”, a state of the art centre for Visual Arts, inspires students to bring forth their creativity and innate artistic flair to flourish into full fledge artists, designers, sculptors etc.
Chithravathi hones the artistic inclination of the students by conducting periodical workshops and training sessions with both in-house trainers and experts in the field of art, sculpting, designing etc. The fruitions of the year-long efforts culminates as RE – PRESENT, an Annual Art Exhibition of the varied and interesting display of art works done by the blossoming artistic Velammalians at Lalit Kala Academy, Chennai from April 5th to 10th.
The Inaugural event will be graced by Shri. T. V. Shanthosh, eminent contemporary artist on April 5th, 2018. Renowned Art Director Shri. Trotsky Marudu will release the Catalogue. The exhibition will be marked by events like Trace the Past – one day Art Workshop for children by Shri. B. O. Shailesh, Cholamandal Artists Village, on 7th April.
Shri. Johni. M.L, Art historian and curator and Shri. Aparajithan, contemporary artist will present a lecture on Child Art and Practice on 8th April. The grand celebration of creativity and artistic expression will culminate on 10th April where the budding artists will be appreciated by Smt. Anitha Mabel Manohar, Director, NIFT, Chennai, in the presence of Shri. M. V.Muthuramalingam, Chairman, Shri. MVM. SasiKumar, Director and Smt. Geethanjali, Director Academics.
