To elevate this noble cause to a greater scale, the brand also signed two Memorandum of Understandings (MoUs) with the Directorate of Medical Education and ICH appointing Kansai Nerolac Paints Ltd. as the nodal partner for development of similar crèche infrastructures across all ICH network hospitals and naming the brand as its maintenance partner for the crèche infrastructure respectively.
Talking about the initiative, Dr. Edwin Joe, Director of Medical education said, “With the signing of the MoU with Nerolac, our endeavour is to create similar creche infrastructures across all ICH hospitals and institutions so that a large number of our healthcare work force can benefit from such facilities. ICH and Nerolac’s extensive work on creating this world class creche will set a benchmark for other institutions to follow.”
Commenting on the occasion, Dr. A T Arasar Seeralar, Director, ICH said, “We are delighted to collaborate with Kansai Nerolac Paints Ltd. to launch this crèche for our hospital personnel. The ICH network itself has over 500 caregivers of which 300 are parents. The crèche will enable easy access and ensure safety of their children. Kansai Nerolac along with the artist team have done a brilliant job with the interiors of the crèche making it a healthy and inspiration filled environment for the children of our staff members.”

Speaking on the launch, Mr. Prashant Pai, Director – Finance, Kansai Nerolac Paints Ltd. said, “At Nerolac, we constantly work towards developing ideas and initiatives that can help transform lives. We are thankful to the Directorate of Medical Education and the ICH for their partnership to bring this one of its kind creche to life. It is a significant demonstration of the transformational power of colours and paints with unique functional benefits to bring about positive change.”
Mr. Prashant Pai further added, “Keeping in mind the children’s wellbeing & creative development, we have transformed the crèche into a healthy and happy living space with the use of our interior pollution control, air purifying, Ultra Low VOC, no odour, lead-free washable paints and through art interventions crafted by a group of artisans specializing in traditional artforms such as Gond, Bheel and Madhubani, with the help of our NGO partner, A Hundred Hands for this purpose.”

The newly launched crèche will cater to the hospital’s working women such as doctors, nurses, paramedical staff and more. The crèche provides a safe and engaging space for new born children and toddlers to older kids in the age group of 13-14 years. The artists from the NGO have taken inspirations from traditional art forms across the country to design motifs and designs with an appeal to children of various age groups. The colours and themes – Bright & cheerful, Marine and Jungle for each room have been chosen keeping in mind the sensibilities and energies of children across different age groups.
