DMK president M Karunanidhi has called the Narendra Modi regime “explicitly communal”, and appealed to all political parties and movements believing in national integrity and secularism to bury their regional and political differences and oppose the “communal threats that have befallen on the country”.

Describing the BJP as being more deceptive than arch rival AIADMK, Karunanidhi on Friday focused his attack only on the national party, without uttering a single word against the regional rival.

Alleging that BJP leaders were making attempts to destroy DMK by triggering defection within the Dravidian party, he said so far they have failed in their efforts.
Earlier in the general council, Karunanidhi was full of praise for his son and party treasurer M K Stalin, saying he was “hard work personified.”
