International Short Film Festival in India – 2015 Ceremony

2 (1)Fitting Finale for ISFFI 2015 The 9th edition of the International Short Film Festival came to a joyful completion on the 26th of March 2015, with the award ceremony, in the presence of various celebrities and dignitaries from Media. They were all enthused at the overwhelming response of the film makers and the audience towards short films. The Veteran Filmmaker and Editor, Mr. Bhimsingh Lenin spoke of the popularity of short films among the younger generations, and how it has become easily accessible and possible for everyone to create and promote short films. Noted Filmmaker and Actor Mr. Ravi Maria in his message expressed his joy in having participated in five consecutive ISSFI festivals and highlighted, how brevity in exploring and expressing a theme should be maintained and how they could be equally gripping and thrilling in delivery. Director Susindran, while congratulating the filmmakers, urged them to go beyond the common themes of lovemaking and romance, and talk of issues that reflect the society and her problems. Actor Sanjeevi, while addressing the audience said that he too acted in short films, and that gave him later the possibility of acting in feature films, and that the efforts of the short filmmakers would be rewarding in due time. Mr. Balaji, the Chairman and Managing Director of Sahya Enterprises while appreciating the enthusiasm of the film makers, affirmed that hardwork, consistency, creativity and social consciousness would take all the filmmakers to greater fame even at the world level, and that was truly possible. Music Director Justin Prabhakaran in his own simple way acknowledged that his short film paved the way for his entry into the film world, and that each short film experience will in its time, take the film maker to the next level. Brian M. Jennings, the veteran Hollywood VFX supervisor and editor, in his message expressed his amazement at the high quality animation films that came in for the festival, and remarked that India was making giant leaps in the field of VFX and Animation.
