SIDBI Swavalamban Mela in Chennai from February 23 – 27, 2022
Small Industries Development Bank of India (SIDBI), as part of its continuous Promotion and Development efforts is conducting ‘Swavalamban Mela”, for the second time in Chennai. It is a 5 – day event held between February 23 – 27, 2022, which gives an opportunity to micro entrepreneurs especially women and artisans to showcase and sell their products and exposure to the market’s trends and demands. Such events focus to empower micro entrepreneurs / artisans / SHGs, to widen their customer base through spot sale and credit connect them with the Micro Finance Institutions. Capacity building training programmes for the entrepreneurs also being part of the event, the Mela serves as a complete package for its core beneficiaries.
In Chennai, for the second time, SIDBI has organized the exhibition, as part of celebration of Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav, which was inaugurated by Shri Hans Raj Verma, IAS, CMD, The Tamilnadu Industrial Investment Corporation Ltd in the presence of Shri Suvendu Pati, CGM, RBI, Dr.K.Inkarsal, GM, NABARD, Shri Vasudevan P.N., MD & CEO, Equitas SFB Ltd., Shri R Ekambaram, Additional Director (DIC) and Smt. Krishna, President, WEWA. During his welcome address, Shri Ravindran A L, Regional Head, SIDBI, Chennai & Puducherry Region, mentioned that one of the main objectives of SIDBI is to promote MSMEs in the country. SIDBI has adopted Vision 2.0 and “Swavalamban” is given increased emphasis. Artisans and micro entrepreneurs, predominantly women, from all across Tamil Nadu are participating. SIDBI is providing stall, food and other facilities free of cost. Further, to scale-up their business, we have also ensured credit connect, workshop on udyam registration, details of Government subsidy schemes, registration on GeM Portal etc.
