Over the last many decades, the general opinion towards breastfeeding has gradualy changed from being the positive, in dispensable tradition of the motherhood of by gone years, to the trivial and in consequential choiceitis today.
It is in response to this faulty narrative, that the International Breastfeeding Conference was first conceived in 2018. IBC was born out of a burning desire to move the science of breastfeeding out of its currentrusty confines, to the exalted and rightful position it once held in the concept of motherhood.
Breastfeeding needs to be normalized; every individual no matter the irage, ability and background, should wilingly up hold the basic rightofal children born into this world–to beheld and breastfed. Breastfeeding is not a stand alone issue that anyone individual faces; it is a medical and social issue.
IBC aims at establishing breastfeeding as a natural phenomenon that is backed by irrefutable scientific evidence and research.
The eminent speakers andpanelists of IBC’22 are primed to discusstopics pertaining to the irrespective field so fexpertise, with the common goal of bridging the gap between scientific evidence and practical application.
While events such as IBC provide an incredible opportunity for professionals to hone relevant skils and network, it was of paramount importance that this knowledge sharing not be reserved fort hem only; instead, this awareness should be alowed to suff use throughout the public consciousness.
This is the goal of Uyir Thuli- the much-await edant hem for breastfeeding, to be launch edat the conference.
Ramya penned the lyrics to an anthem for breastfeeding in 2018, when she realized that the only way to reachout and connect with the public onlarge-scale, especialy new and expectant mothers, was to use something that would resonate with one and al, and go beyond the man-made constructs and divisions of society. And this medium of revolution, ofcourse, cannot be anything but music.
Unfortunately, the anthem had to be put on the backburner for the next four years, as there were n’t sufficient funds for a ful audio and video release. As luck would have it, Ramya married Mr. Ashok Sridharan, a prominent music composer of the South Indian film industry in 2021, and in him, found the support she needed to make UyirThuli see the light of day.
Mr.Ashok Sridharan, ofcourse is thet alent behind the enchanting background score for UyirThuli.
This is only the beginning. Going forward, Ramya has her sights set many more such trailblazing initiatives that focus on bringing phenomenal positive change to the field so ffemale and per inatal health care in India, and abroad.
