Shri B.Sriram, Managing Director (National Banking Group), State Bank of India, inaugurated the 1000th Branch of Chennai Circle at Ashoknagar on 14th August 2015. The new HNI Branch will be mainly taking care of the special needs of the HNI customers in and around the area. It is located in a spacious building at Ashoknagar with ample car parking facility.
As part of the Corporate Social Responsibility activities of the Bank, Shri B.Sriram, Managing Director & Group Executive (National Banking Group), in the presence of Shri P.S. Prakash Rao, Chief General Manager, Chennai Circle donated Mobile Radiography System worth Rs.20.00 lakhs to Rajiv Gandhi Govt., General Hospital, Chennai. Dr. R.Vimala, Dean of the Hospital, Chennai, accepted the donation and thanked SBI for its CSR initiative. 
State Bank of India as a responsible Corporate Citizen earmarks 1% of its profit every year for its CSR activities. During the financial year 2014-15 , the Bank spent Rs.115.80 crs on various CSR activities throughout the country. During the Financial year 2014-15, Chennai Circle had donated Rs. 32.94 lakhs for 4 activities besides Rs.35 lakhs spent towards providing 110 computers (PCs) to various schools. During the current tear the Chennai Circle has donated Rs. 60.00 lacs for various CSR activities . State Bank of India continues to remain committed in Corporate Social Responsibilities.
