Gleneagles HealthCity Chennai Organised Fibro Scan Liver Screening Camp for Police Personnel

Chennai, June 15th, 2024: Gleneagles HealthCity Chennai, a leading multi-speciality quaternary healthcare centre organised Fibro Scan liver screening for police personnel under Tambaram Commissionerate on June 15th, 2024. C Maheshwari, IGP, Additional Commissioner of Police, Hqrs & Traffic, Tambaram City Police inaugurated the camp in the presence of Dr. Nagesh K Rao, CEO, & Dr Joy Vargheese, Director of Hepatology & Transplant, Gleneagles HealthCity Chennai. This initiative, in observance of June month as Global Fatty Liver Month.

“The camp, aimed at promoting liver health and early detection of liver diseases, provided police personnel with access to advanced liver screening using the FibroScan technology. This non-invasive procedure is crucial for identifying conditions like liver fibrosis and fatty liver disease, which, if detected early, can be managed effectively to prevent serious complications”, said Dr Joy Vargheese, Director of Hepatology & Transplant, Gleneagles HealthCity Chennai

Around 300 police personnels attend the camp and had undergone the FibroScan test. Alongside the screenings, participants were provided with educational materials on maintaining liver health, the impact of lifestyle choices, and the importance of regular health check-ups.
