MRT1’s Chargebee Chennai Runs 2024 Concludes with T-Shirt Unveiling and Discussion on the Cause for Education

Today, the press meet for the 3rd edition of Chargebee Chennai Runs 2024 took place at ITC Grand Chola, Chennai. The event featured the unveiling of the official Chennai Runs T-shirt by acclaimed badminton player Jwala Gutta and an address by renowned actress Aishwarya Rajesh, who spoke about the importance of education. This year’s event is supported by Chargebee as the title sponsor and is organized by Madras Round Table 1 (MRT1). The main event is scheduled for October 27th.
The Chennai Runs initiative focuses on improving educational facilities and resources for underprivileged children in Tamil Nadu. The funds raised will support significant improvements at government schools, including the construction of new classrooms and the provision of essential resources for students. This year, MRT1 will collaborate with Bhoomika Trust, an NGO focused on improving educational opportunities for underprivileged communities in Tamil Nadu.
Jwala Gutta, who unveiled the event T-shirt, commented, “I am honoured to be part of Chargebee Chennai Runs 2024 – an event that promotes both physical fitness and access to education respectively. The way I see it, this T-shirt unveiling marks the beginning of our collective effort to provide better educational opportunities for children who need it most.”

Especially having acted in films like Vada Chennai, I strongly believe that education and sports serve as powerful tools for empowering underprivileged students. Chargebee Chennai Runs 2024 is aligned with this shared vision of improving educational facilities and promoting sportsmanship.”
Partnered by CHOSEN by Dermatology, today’s social event was attended by prominent media personalities who pledged their support to enhance the reach of the marathon to achieve the noble outcome.

This year’s event is set to accommodate over 11,000 participants across various categories: 3km, 5km, 10km, and a half marathon of 21.1km.
