“Politics is a life science” – Seeman emphasizes at the state-level ‘Sol Tamizha Sol’ debate competition!
Kattankulathur, 08 April 2025: The culmination of the ‘Sol Tamizha Sol’ program, organized by the Tamil Perayam, was successfully hosted at the SRM Institute of Science and Technology’s Kattankulathur campus. This final competition marked the decisive stage of the elocution event.
The ‘Sol Tamizha Sol’ program fostered a platform to recognize eloquence of university and college students for the past three months across Tamil Nadu in all districts. The districts were divided into 9 zones, and more than 2000 students participated in the competition and spoke on various topics.
A grand finale was held among the 8 students who participated in this program and advanced to the final round.
This Program Presided over by the Chancellor of SRM University, Dr. T.R. Paarivendhar, the State President of the Bharatiya Janata Party, Mr. Annamalai IPS, and the Coordinator of Naam Tamilar Katchi, Mr. Seeman, as special guests who delivered special addresses to the gathering. The popular debate speaker, Mr. Gnanasambandan participated as the judge in the final competition.
The Event was graced by the presence of distinguished dignitaries, including: Dr. C. Muthamizh Selvan, Vice-Chancellor of SRM University; Dr. S. Ponnusamy, the University’s Registrar; Professor Karu Nagarajan, President of the Tamil Perayam; Mr. G. Rajan, General Secretary of the Indian Democratic Party; Mr. Shanmugam, Joint General Secretary of the Indiya Jananayaga Katchi; Mr. Ramesh, Secretary of the Information Technology Wing of the Indiya Jananayaga Katchi; Ms. Latha, Public Relations Officer of the Indian Democratic Party; and Mr. Balaji, Secretary of the Advocates’ Wing of the Indiya Jananayaga Katchi.
“Winners in competitions not only receive prizes but also recognition,” said Mr. Gnanasambandan, encouraging the contestants.
Furthermore, BJP State President Mr. K. Annamalai said, “True courage is acting without revealing fear, even when it exists,” and explained the importance of debating skills.
The coordinator of Naam Tamilar Katchi, Mr. Seeman, spoke about public speaking and the greatness of the Tamil language.
A total prize money of ₹40 lakh was awarded to the winners of the ‘Sol Tamizha Sol’ debate competition. Furthermore, in this program, students from SRM University presented various cultural events. More than 4000 students, professors, assistant professors, and non-teaching staff enjoyed watching the grand finale of the debate competition.
