Aaryan Movie Review by Mathi Oli Rajaa

“Aaryan” movie produced by Shubhra, Aryan Ramesh and Vishnu Vishal under the banner of Vishnu Vishal Studioz. Directed by Praveen K., Music by Ghibran, Starring by Vishnu Vishal, Selvaraghavan, Shraddha Srinath, Maanasa Choudhary, Karunakaran, Avinash Y & Many Others.

Aaryan Movie revolves around writer Alagar (Selvaraghavan), who embarks on a serial killing spree to prove that a perfect crime is feasible. Police officer Arivudai Nambi (Vishnu Vishal) is determined to thwart Alagar’s plans, while journalist Nayana (Shraddha Srinath) seeks to unravel the method behind the madness for her audience. Interestingly, Alagar’s actions mirror his fictional writings – meticulously crafted in his mind but failing to resonate with his audience.

The film’s fantastical premise is a notable strength, portraying Alagar as a cerebral and audacious individual who publicly announces his intentions before committing the first murder. By charting out the entire blueprint of his killing spree, Alagar issues a direct challenge to the police, specifically Nambi, to apprehend him if they can. However, despite the intriguing premise, the film falters in its execution, particularly in the way these two worlds collide.

However, it soon becomes apparent that Praveen’s true interest lies not in identifying the perpetrator, but rather in meticulously unraveling the modus operandi, thereby exploring the obsessive pursuit of justice and the blurred lines between righteousness and fixation. The film’s first 20 to 30 minutes are masterfully crafted, after which it gains momentum, culminating in a striking plot point at the interval mark.

The second half of the film transitions into a gripping cat-and-mouse chase, replete with captivating moments and a steady stream of suspense. Nevertheless, the central conundrum that may polarize audiences revolves around the justification of the killing’s motive. For viewers who find the rationale convincing, Aaryan offers a tour-de-force thriller experience. Conversely, for those who remain unconvinced, the film may feel like a decent yet formulaic thriller.

Vishnu Vishal delivers a masterful performance as the lead, bringing a remarkable level of nuance to the character. His portrayal of Aaryan is marked by introspection, conflict, and a deep sense of humanity. He imbues the character with a dynamic energy, conveys doubt through his silences, and channels pain into purpose. This layered performance serves as a testament to Vishnu’s versatility and cements his status as one of Tamil cinema’s most intriguing and unpredictable leading men.

Conversely, Selvaraghavan delivers a career-defining performance, rendering one of his most memorable roles to date. His portrayal is etched in the mind long after the credits roll. The supporting cast, including Shraddha Srinath and Maanasa Choudhary, deliver performances that are meticulously calibrated to the film’s tone, effectively fulfilling their narrative obligations.

From a technical standpoint, the film is exemplary. Harish Kannan’s cinematography lends a distinctive noir aesthetic to Tamil cinema, characterized by rain-soaked visuals, reflections, and moral ambiguity. San Lokesh’s editing imbues the film with a deliberate rhythm, prioritizing tension over pace and allowing key moments to resonate.

Meanwhile, Ghibran’s background score subtly amplifies the sense of unease, complementing the narrative’s emotional undertones with restraint rather than overwhelming them.

Director Praveen K. demonstrates a masterful grasp of his craft, holding the film together with a steady hand and unwavering conviction. His writing is marked by thoughtfulness without succumbing to didacticism, delving into the solitude of those who seek truth and the emotional toll of heroism. Notably, he eschews narrative shortcuts, instead opting for a measured pace that demands patience from the audience and ultimately yields a richly rewarding experience characterized by depth and purpose.

The film Aaryan is a gripping investigative thriller that masterfully weaves together elements of suspense, drama, and tension. At its core, the movie revolves around a determined law enforcement officer engaged in a cat-and-mouse pursuit of a calculating serial killer.

Aaryan movie effectively sets the tone for an intense and thrilling ride, hinting at a complex crime narrative replete with emotional depth. By seamlessly blending dramatic and suspenseful elements, the storyline promises to captivate audiences, keeping them on the edge of their seats as the mystery unfolds.
