Raj TV hosted a grand function to honour the ace director who has delivered a number of blockbusters like Muthu,Padayappa, Dasavatharam,Thenali,Nattamai etc. The grand event was chaired by Padma Shri Kamal Hassan at Jawaharlal Nehru Indoor Stadium in the city on January 4 before  a huge audience of 10,000 and plus.

The grandiose occasion saw the attendance of Kollywood biggies like Sarathkumar, Arjun,Vijayakumar,R.Pandiarajan,MS Bhaskar, Chinni Jayanth, Manobala and actresses like Ramya Krishnan, Simran,Rekha,Deivayani,Sangeetha,Kutty Padmini and directors like Vikraman, RK Sevamani, Cheran,R Sundararajan and producers and music composers.

Sameera Reddy,Lakshmi Rai, Neetu Chandra,Ramya Nambeesan, Sandhya and Iniya rendered some colourful performances among many others.

Cinema Pathirikaiyalar Sangam President Major Dasan, Secretary Krishnan kutty, Tresurer Baleshwar, Vice Presidents Prbhu T.R.Prasad & Ms. Kavitha, executive members Ms.Shanthi & Faceinews Reporter Mathioli Rajaa, Hounarable  members Actors Padmasri Kamal Hasan & Sarathkumar were Honoured Director K.S.Ravikumar.

Kamal Hassan gave away a memento studded with  25 gms of gold coins embedded in a silver memento to KS Ravikumar, coinciding with his 25-year stint in Kollywood.

KS Ravikumar’s wife and daughters gave some interesting answers to questions posed to them about KS Ravikumar.

The assistant directors of KS Ravikumar and those who have grown to become directors, headed by Cheran garlanded the director and sought his blessings.

The top brass of Raj TV gave away a cheque for Rs.10 lakhs to the Tamil Nadu Directors’ Association,which was received by the Association secretary RK Selvamani.
