Mukila (Devika Satheesh), daughter of ruthless gangster Moorthy (R. Sarathkumar), falls for college mate Arul (Indrajith Jagajith). When Moorthy finds out, he’s furious and plans to kill Arul, taking him to the middle of the sea on a boat. As Moorthy beats Arul, an unexpected twist puts him in a precarious situation. With both struggling for their lives, the climax unfolds.
Sarathkumar’s role and performance in this film are a departure from his previous work. His brutal portrayal of a father, beating and bruising Indrajith Jagajith, leaves viewers shocked – who knew he had this intensity?
The intense scene with Sarathkumar and Indrajith Jagajith stranded in a boat amidst rough seas is so realistic, it feels like you’re stuck with them.Sarathkumar’s towering figure unleashes fury, but Indrajith Jagajith’s counterattack showcases the young man’s grit. Devika Satheesh, playing Sarathkumar’s daughter, is a vision of beauty.
Anand N Nair’s camera work captures the turmoil of the mid-sea waves, and William Francis’s score heightens the tension in the deserted boat. Editing is excellently done by K Sreenivas, Director Madhav Ramadasan emotionally conveys that love and humanity reside within every individual.
“Aazhi” movie is a gripping oceanic story shaped by power, survival, showcasing the power of love, a father’s twisted affection, and the devastating consequences that follow.
