Lalu meets Raghul and Sonia

Lalu-Prasad-mee14296Rashtriya Janata Dal supremo Lalu Prasad Yadav met Congress vice-president Rahul Gandhi on Thursday to chalk out alliance possibilities ahead of 2014 Lok Sabha polls. RJD chief, on December last year, had met Congress president Sonia Gandhi, where Lalu had assured her that the mistake of breaking up alliance with Congress in 2009 will not be repeated.

Since Lalu was convicted in fodder scam, Rahul Gandhi is personally against any alliance with RJD to project himself as anti-corruption leader. Although many party leaders are in favour of tie-up with RJD, the alliance may raise questions on Congress’ stand on corruption. On the other hand, Lalu has also said that he has no regrets and is sure to get justice and fight elections again.

Furthermore, while accusing Narendra Modi of spreading communalism, he also said that there is no question of Modi being the next prime minister and that the latter is a non-political man.
