SRKM VIVEKANANDA CENTENARY GIRLS’ HIGHER SECONDARY SCHOOL 54th SPORTS DAY & ANNUAL DAY – 2016

DSC_0668Sri Rama Krishna Math Vivekananda Centenary Girl’s Higher Secondary School 54th Annual Day and Sports Day Celebration was held on Wednesday, the 20th, July 2016 at thier SRI RAMAKRISHNA MATH VIVEKANANDA CENTENARY GIRLS’ HIGHER SECONDARY SCHOOL (A UNIT OF SRI RAMAKRISHNA MATH, CHENNAI-04) No.2, Saravana Street, Mint, Chennai-79.

DSC_0343The celebrations started with Prayer and welcome address by Smt. Sundari, Head Mistress of  School.

Sports Day was celebrated in the forenoon.  Swami Srividyananda, Secretary of the School took the guard of honour followed by oath taking by the students.  Olympic torch was lit by Chief Guest, Smt. S. Sree Thulsi, ADSP.  As a part of the celebrations, students also performed Cultural programmes.

DSC_0703Sport Day Report 2015-16, was read by Smt. S. Suganya, Physical Education Teacher, briefing the achievements of this school students in the last academic year and highlighted the students’ participation in Sports and Games held at various Zone levels.

Chief Guest, Smt. S. Sree Thulsi, ADSP, Finger Print Department, Tamil Nadu State Crime Record Bureau, addressed the students.  She advised the students to learn Martial Arts like Silambam and also Yoga, Cooking etc. She appreciated the students for wearing a clean uniform and the enthusiasm shown by them.  Swami Srividyananda, Secretary of the School presented the memento to the Chief Guest.

DSC_0186Prizes, Shields and Certificates were distributed to the students for their achievements in Sports and Games and allied activities by Smt. S. Sree Thulsi, ADSP in the presence of Secretary, Head Mistress and Teachers.

The Sports Day concluded with vote of thanks by Smt. Nirmala, Tamil Pandit of the School.

54th   ANNUAL DAY CELEBRATIONS, 2016

 Annual Day programmes started in the afternoon by 3.00 p.m., with a Prayer song followed by Welcome address read by. Smt. Sivakama Sundari, Assistant Head Mistress.

The winners of various competitions, academic achievers in this academic year were given with prizes, medals and shields and certificates.  Teachers were honoured with awards for their hard work in achieving 100% results in the 10th standard public exams, 2016.  Revered Srimat Swami Gautamanandaji Maharaj, Adhyaksha, Sri Ramakrishna Math, Mylapore, Chennai, Swami Vimurtanandaji Maharaj, Manager, Sri Ramakrishna Math, Mylapore, Chennai, Swami Satyajnanananda Maharaj, Secretary, Students Home, Mylapore, Chennai,  Dr. R. Pratapkumar, Member, Tamil Nadu Public Service Commission honoured the occasion by participating in the Annual Day events.

DSC_0717Dr. C. Pratapkumar, while addressing the students, explained to them about the scope of getting in to Govt. service through Tamil Nadu Public Service Commission and requested the Teachers to guide the students about various competitive examinations conducted by TNPSC and UPSC.

Swami Vimurtanandaji Maharaj, Manager, Sri Ramakrishna Math, Mylapore, Chennai addressed the students with inspiring talk motivating them to rise up in life. He appreciated the attitude of students showing equal respect to all Teachers and non-teaching staff alike including watchman.

Revered Srimat Swami Gautamanandaji Maharaj, Adhyaksha, Sri Ramakrishna Math, Mylapore, Chennai, gave the benedictory address. He pointed out the sacrifice made by Sister Nivedita for the cause of the Nation and women’s education. He wanted the students and teachers to bring name and fame to the school.

As a part of the cultural event students performed welcome dance, enacted dramas in English from the lives of Holy Trinity also with incidents from the life of Sister Nivedita and a Tamil dance drama on Bhaktha Prahalada.

Math Volunteers, Donors of various edowments and Board Members were present on the occasion.

The Annual day concluded with a vote of thanks   by Smt. S. Sarasawathy, Tamil Pandit followed by National Anthem.
