Kolahpur: In a protest against the IBRC Infrastructure Developer’s decision to start the toll collection at nine roads leading to Maharashtra’s Kolhapur city, the Shiv Sena has called a bandh here on Monday. However, the Sena leaders assured that essential services such as medical stores and hospitals will not be forced to be kept closed.
Four toll plaza booths were vandalised in Kolhapur on Sunday after a dispute over collection of toll tariff. The hooligans in large number vandalised the booths and burnt down the toll plaza property. Police said, that they have detained some of the protesters who ransacked the booths.
Shiv Sena workers are being blamed for the attack. There is no report of anybody having been injured during the attack on booths, police said.
