CHENNAI: The city has the largest number of child cancer cases in the country, with 159 new cases per 10 lakh population reported every year, ahead of second-placed Delhi which recorded 149 cases, a study shows.
Pune had the lowest incidence of cancer among children — 47 new cases for the same sample size, according to the population-based study by the Indian Council for Medical Research on prevalence of cancer among children (under the age of 14).
