vijay-jilla-movie-posters-by-fans-05Direction: RT Neason

Cast: Mohanlal, Vijay, Kajal Agarwal

Vijay-Mohanlal starrer Jilla falls on the backdrop of Madurai. Story of this film not differs from others films which uses the same city as their backdrop, that is action, but how director RT Neason differs from others and executed his script. Lets see! Sakthi (Vijay) has been brought up by a self-styled don Sivan (Mohanlal) in Madurai, his fiefdom.

Sakthi, who does not like policemen as he had witnessed how brutally his father had been killed by cops. After losing his dad in his early age, Sakthi grows up as Sivan’s trusted lieutenant, championing his causes, regardless of the fact that whether Sivan is right or wrong. As the things going well, Pradeep Ravat takes charge as the City Commissioner, he comes to know about don Sivan and his activities.

Pradeep wants to make the city calm and free from rowdies, he decided to arrest Sivan and did the same but instead putting him behind the bars he just warned him to drop all his activities. Later, Sakthi aware of his father arrest he decide to take a revenge and attacked the Pradeep furiously in this fight Pradeep lost his one limb.

Meanwhile, Sivan think if one of his man will be in police then this type of incident would never happen so he decided to make Sakthi as police officer. Sakthi who never like police but for his father request he joins in police. If you think the story will change here, exactly not but after sometime an accident that turns Sakthi to act against his father Sivan.

What happens next that forms the rest of the story. Considering heroine, Kajal Aggarwal has nothing much to do other than be a part of the songs. Actors Poornima, Mahat, Niveda, Sampath and others exactly did their roles. The film works largely due to Mohanlal – Vijay combo scenes. The jostle and push dance between the two in the energetic and massy number Sivanum Sakthiyum Serndha Maasu da.. is electrifying.

The climax scene between this two is apt. The most supporting and interesting part of this film was music, D.Imman did the great job and BGM scored for the film surely electrifying the audience. On the downside, the film is too long and predictable with some of the songs acting as speed breakers. Soori’s comedy falls flat. The film mainly work due to the combo of Vijay and Mohanlal.

On the Whole, complete mass entertainer for the viewers.
