There are very few programmes on agriculture in Tamil television channels. Puthiya Thalaimurai gives a different approach to agriculture and creates awareness on the same through the programme titled Uzhavukku Uyiruttu.

At present a negative opinion on agriculture such as drop in the number of persons taking up agricultural activities, lack of profitability in agriculture, scarcity of farm labourers and the shrinking cultivable land prevails at large in the society today.

Through “Uzhavukku Uyiruttu” Puthiya Thalaimurai is taking efforts to cultivate interest in agriculture among the younger generation and among those who are not connected to agriculture.

Uzhavukku Uyiruttu comes with success stories of farmers, new technologies, the art of allied agriculture activities, newly available crop varieties, agriculture related industries and information on high profit yielding allied agricultural activities such as fisheries and cattle rearing.

Taking information to farmers, keeping them informed on means to reap rich harvests and taking government schemes to the farmers are the salient features of this novel weekly program.

Uzhavukku Uyiruttu is aired from 4.30 pm to 5.00 p.m. on Saturdays and from 9.30 to 10 .00 p.m. on Sundays.
