The Budding champions of Velammal Vidyalaya, Mel Ayanambakkam Master D. Gukesh( Class VII)in the U-12 Category,Master V. Pranav ( Class VII)in the Under 12 Category, Miss Rakshitha ravi ( Class VIII) in the Under 14 category and Miss Savitha Sri ( Class VII)in the Under 12 Category have embellished the school crown by qualifying  to represent India at the Asian Youth Chess Championship 2018 to be held at Thailand between 31^st March 2018 and 10^th April 2018.
